For optimal acclimatization, we recommend adding on extra days in Arusha to enjoy the surrounding countryside. Take a walk through Arusha National park with Park Rangers or relax at the pool and enjoy the African sun.

The route we recommend is The Lemosho Glades route via the Western Breach and is among the least used combination of routes on Kilimanjaro. The trail leads up to the western edge of the Shira Plateau, and the hike across the plateau is said to be one of the most stunningly beautiful hikes in Africa . With 8 nights on the mountain, your chances of reaching the “Roof of Africa” are very good.
