THE EXPERIENCE
The Cruise and Learn is a live-aboard program that is designed to give students the knowledge and experience of extended cruising on a larger sailboat 30 – 34 feet in length.This Basic Cruising program provides instruction on the essential aspects of sailingand cruising including maneuvering under sail and power, docking, navigating, boat systems, crew overboard and other safe boating procedures.

Upon successful completion of the course students will receive CYA (Canadian Yacht Association) Basic Cruising Certification with the option of also obtaining the IYT (International Yachtmaster Training) International Crew Certificate.

FORMAT
Students board on Sunday evening at 3pm at our Granville Island base at 1620 Duranleau St. where you will meet your instructor. The course departs on their journey that afternoon five and half days of sailing aboard their fully provisioned yacht. As there are only four students on board with one instructor, students get personalized attention throughout the five days. Students return on the Friday by 3:00pm.
